We had a wonderful lunch here when travelling through Kelowna. First time customers we were left very impressed by the amazing customer service, variety on the menu and freshness of dishes we were served. The lady who served us could not have been more friendly and sweet.
The fried wontons and after dinner donuts were real HIGHLIGHTS!!! but everything was delicious. We will most definitely be going here again when in the area. -

Nov 2017:
Ate here again on this snowy night. Again, we were greeted with such a warm smile.
We ordered: N3 Wonton soup, D16 Ma Po tofu, F7 Fried rice, and D2 Stir fried vegetables.
The Wonton soup(N3) was good. I loved that there was so many veggies in the soup and that the wontons were handmade. They looked different than typical wontons I've seen and also had the same yummy filling as the A4 boiled dumplings on the menu. Im not a big fan of faux meats but my fiancé really liked the faux ham in this soup and he said it tasted like spam (which he used to love) so he enjoyed the soup as well.
So far my favourites are: A4 Dumplings(boiled), D2 Stir fried vegetables, and N3 Wonton soup (w/o faux ham).
My fiancé's favourites are: D16 Ma Po tofu, F4 Fried oriental vermicelli, A4 Dumplings(boiled), and N3 Wonton soup.
July 2017:
I first came here in 2013 and enjoyed it. We moved shortly after and didn't come back until today. So glad we did, we had such a great meal.
We ordered: A4 Dumplings(boiled), D16 Ma Po tofu, H4 Hot plate stem, F4 Fried oriental vermicelli.
The dumplings(A4) are handmade and were delicious. They were filled with veggies like minced cabbage, carrots, onions.
The Ma po tofu(D16) was yummy and had lots of big chunks of soft tofu with corn and peas.
The Hot plate stem(H4) was brought out in a bowl and then poured onto the hot plate at our table. I liked the presentation and it added a bit of wow factor to see and hear it sizzling, bubbling and steaming in front of us. This dish had broccoli, carrots, snap peas, mushrooms and faux beef which is made from soy protein. I don't eat fake meats and try to stay away from processed food, and anything with added oil, salt or sugar but I made an exception today and it was surprisingly delicious and had the texture of stewed beef.
The fried oriental vermicelli(F4) was my fiancés favourite dish. We both really love Singapore fried noodles and always get it at Chinese restaurants but he said he liked this dish even better. I enjoyed it as well. There was some chopped greens, carrots, cabbage and faux ground meat and faux sliced ham.
The restaurant was clean and the service was great. The lady that served us today was the same lady that served us in 2013. One thing that stood out in my mind from our first visit in 2013 was how friendly she was. Once again today she was nice and served us with a genuine smile.
Lake Tai restaurant has been in business for 13 years. One of the owners, a very sweet and cheerful lady has been vegetarian for 25 years.
As the years go by, more and more chain restaurants are opening up and are usually very busy. But I personally like to support the smaller mom and pop restaurants that work hard and sacrifice to make a living. Plus being a vegetarian for 25 years and keeping a vegetarian/vegan restaurant open in Kelowna for 13 years is dedication, passion and says a lot about their character because they never strayed from what they believe in or gave in to the majority. And that is something I want to support.
I will be back again and again. -
